What is RaiseRight?
So to summarize - through your RaiseRight accounts you can purchase gift cards for your favorite stores/brands at no extra cost to you! The rebates you earn through these purchases are then used to benefit both Waupun Gymnastics Club AND the gymnast of your choice! Talk about a WIN-WIN!
- RaiseRight, previously know as Scrip, is a fundraising program. Scrip is defined as a substitute for legal tender or a form of credit and is also a term for gift card fundraising.
- Nope! The cost to join the program is free.
- After creating an account, you purchase gift cards through the RaiseRight website or through their app, with each vendor offering various percentages of "rebate". You can purchase physical cards that will be shipped directly to you OR ordered by WGC once a month, many of which are then reloadable, or you can purchase instant e-gift cards as well. It doesn't cost you any extra to buy the gift cards through RaiseRight (you buy a $50 gift card, it's worth $50!) but the brand then pays the earnings to the organization.
- For most organizations, the full rebate is then given to the organization which is kept as part of the fundraising efforts. At WGC, we only take the first 20% of your rebates... why? Well, read on...
- The remaining 80% of your rebate earned is then applied as a credit to the WGC account of your choice! This might be your own personal account to support your kids, or maybe its your grandkids or niece/nephew. If you want to join our program just to support WGC, you can designate that 100% of your funds go to WGC and not just the first 20%.
