"Over the years gymnastics taught me a lot of life lessons that have carried over into many other aspects of my life. It taught me to always persevere and work hard for a goal even if you don’t know what that goal is yet. It taught me resourcefulness and to work with what you had and to make the best of it. It taught me to communicate with others so that they can help you in trying to achieve that goal, as well as respect for all others regardless of ability level or level of involvement."
-Nicole, WHS Class of 2014; GymStars / WGC team member
ABOUT US
A little history...
Waupun Gymnastics Club has grown from a small youth program to having over 1400 students in our club. Waupun High School has had a gymnastics team since approximately the early 80's, with summer school classes and other small programs being offered here and there. Jane Neevel took over the High School team in 1999, and continued to build off the existing youth program. Then in 2006 she made it official by starting GymStars Gymnastics with daughter Emily as a feeder program for the Warrior High School team. Since then we have grown to offer classes, 4 levels of competitive team, have had USAG XCEL State champions, and made school history by producing the first HS team to qualify for the WI State Meet (and 4 more since then!) |
Because of the youth program, the High School has continued to break school records, have multiple All State Athletes, consistently send team & individuals to the State Meet, and a WIAA State Champion.
In 2018 Emily has stepped into a larger roll at the gym, taking over as Class Manager while continuing to coach all levels including High School.
As of 2019, Jane has retired from the youth program, but continued coaching the High School team for another year, fully retiring after the 2020 season.
In 2019 we transitioned to a board run, not for profit 501(c)(3), and changed our name from GymStars to Waupun Gymnastics Club. We now are proud to now only give our High School team a head start, but also share the joy of gymnastics with so many others! We offer Ninja Classes for active boys (and girls!), Parent & Tot classes for early childhood development, and a wide range of gymnastics based classes.

OUR BELIEFS
Success should not be measured just as winning or losing, success comes in many forms:
Learning new skills
Performing at your personal best
Developing additional strength and flexibility
Building friendships & relational skills
Developing character
Gymnastics also provides a learning ground for new skills, as well as such wonderful like skills as loyalty, commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship, work ethic, respect, time management, character development, health and physical fitness.
Participants learn fundamental movement skills like running, jumping, landing, swinging, and rotating as well as developing all aspects of fitness including flexibility, muscle strength and endurance, balance, agility, coordination and more. A start in the activity of gymnastics can easily lead to success in gymnastics and in other sports.
The staff of Waupun Gymnastics is dedicated to the training and teaching of athletes by stressing safety and using positive reinforcement. Our coaching staff has completed many coaching courses and are CPR and First Aid certified.
Thank you for supporting Waupun Gymnastics! See you in the gym!
